Get in the Picture

Saturday 3rd/10th December.

We joined many churches all over the country offering people the chance to Get in The Picture. We set up a stable scene and provided beautiful costumes so that passers-by could have their chance to be in a Nativity scene. Photographs were taken which were put online where people could download them or could send them as e-Christmas cards. At the same time they could hear the Christmas story.

Holiday Club 2011

For our holiday Club this year we used material prepared by Scripture Union, called "Mission Rescue". Our children became spies, under the direction of 2 "Spymasters", whilst learning about God's rescue of his people from the Egyptians in the time of Moses. There were 40 children registered, and great fun was enjoyed by all

 Christ in the Passover

Friday, 8th April.

Ziggy Rogoff from Jews for Jesus presented Christ in the Passover to people in Bideford who wanted to know more about the symbolism and terms behind the Jewish Passover Service.

The Baptist Church invited Ziggy because one of the groups had been studying Exodus for a number of weeks and wanted to get an even deeper understanding of how Jesus became the Passover Lamb in the ultimate sacrifice (At least that was my understanding)
Ziggy left us with a better grasp of the whole thing and answers to a lot of questions from those present. In the process well over £100 was raised for Jews for Jesus along with a commitment from individuals to pray regularly for the mission.

For more information about their work you can visit their website at www.jewsforjesus.org.uk

Home Mission lunch

Sunday 13th February

The aim this year was to bring down the cost and to raise more money, and this was acheived! About 60 people were fed for about £45, by using cheaper  ingredients. We all had a wonderful meal at £3 each, and Home Mission comes off better, too!

 New Lectern

Sunday 16th January

New Lectern

A new lectern was dedicated during the morning service. It was made possible by a generous legacy from a well-loved member of the church, Tony Watts who loved scripture and was one of our team of readers.
